Happy Wednesday friends!! Its time to sign up for Secret Pals! Put your name on the list if you would like to participate!! Remember, we just send our secret pal a little happy once a month and do a reveal in May!! 😊

Interns from Samford!
Caroline Thompson starting with Mrs. Shorter and moving to Mrs. D. Franklin
Hannah Pulley starting with Mrs. Jones and moving to Mrs. Wessel

Welcome to Quay Walton, the tech guy! Phil has been assigned to HTMS.  Quay will be with us all day Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Reminders about Intervention Services with Strickland, Feild and Peacock.....
Students shouldn't miss interventions!
Please don't schedule "classroom rewards", such as extra recess during Intervention times.
Changes to the Intervention Schedule are only made by Tyner.
Eligibility for Special Education doesn't automatically mean removal from T3. Keep sending them!
Every student in T3 intervention should also be receiving T2 with you.

Reminders about empty classrooms..........
Please remind your students to wait for you in the hallway, if the class happens to get to the room before you do. Students should never enter an empty classroom.  Supervision is important.  If you are leaving during your planning time or early during the day, shut your door and turn the lights out. Better to be safe!

Weekly Newsletter should be uploaded to the drive, weekly.  If you've gotten behind, please go back and add the ones that are missing to the appropriate folder.

Thursday, January 25th our students will participate in a Glow Run event in the gym during PE time. I will probably create a schedule that will be a little different so I can split some of the grades into two different times. It should be a fun time with music and "glowing"!

This Thursday, we'll ask that you show a 8-10 minute video to your students immediately following announcements that will serve as the kickoff for the event. The video, explains how the students should register and all about the prizes for the different donation levels. Their parents are gathering donations for the "number of laps run". Everything is through a link and done online. The link was sent out last week.

Friday Jan. 19 - Jan.25, the Glow Run prize cart will drop of the student prizes immediately following announcement.  I would suggest that they go straight to backpacks and/or lockers until dismissal.

We are asking teachers to do a couple of things to help us out.
1. Tolerate the morning prize delivery for 5 mornings.
2. Encourage your students to register.  You'll be given some stickers to handout.
3. Show and watch the kickoff video with your class.

Boosterthon, the company we are working with, gives teachers to ability to sign into their class page and monitor involvement, send out additional emails and track class progress. This is 100% optional. I'd prefer that you not worry about any of that stuff.  You'll find a white envelop in your box this week. The students stickers, mentioned above are in this envelop.  Everything else in the envelop is optional.

The PTO is working on a teacher prize for the class with the highest percentage of participants. I'll let you know what they come up with as soon as they finalize plans.

When I met with the PTO leaders today, I realized that this fundraiser works much like Kid's Heart Challenge. I think you'll see the similarities too.

Thank you for all the Birthday wishes last week. The cards from the students were precious and I appreciate the decorations, flowers, card and gift card from the Grace Group. Celebrating your Birthday is pretty special when you do it at Cahaba!
