Fire Drill & Collaboration

Don't forget that our first fire drill will be in the morning right after announcements (August 28).  Please make sure you are familiar with your evacuation location, and that your students know where to go.  We will assess for any needed changes after the drill. 

Rosetta and the Safety Team created signs for you to carry outside with you.  Be sure to hold this sign up to designate where your class is located once you are outside.  This sign should go with you during any evacuation outside of the building so students can more easily identify where their class is located.  

Specialists--I ran out of sticks for your signs, but will get them to you ASAP.

Family News -

Remember Angela Shorter and her mother today --  The doctors discovered a bleed around the tumor in her mother's brain.  They transported her for surgery only to be told that surgery was not possible.  They will be managing the bleed with medication

This week marks the second anniversary of my daughter Molly’s death.  Many of you were around and remember all of the events of August 2016 and I appreciate the kind words and notes that you’ve shared over the last few days.   I think it’s best for me to spend some much needed time with Molly’s husband and mine over the next couple of days.  If you need anything while I’m away, please don’t hesitate to text or email.  I’ll see you all Monday! #remembermolly

Rosetta and I really thank you for the encouragement and affirmations at the end of our staff meeting last Monday.  WE LOVE OUR TRIBE!! 










Remember!  Parents will ask you to fill out rating scales or other paper work for doctors and counselors.  We must have a Third Party Form on file, before you do that!  Also, we fax or mail that information directly to doctors.  DO NOT give information to a parent to deliver to the "third party". 



It's that time of year again to sign up for the Pizza Hut Book It Program!  It is free and easy: Use the pizza coupons to reward your students for completing your reading assignments each month.  The program will run from October- March.  We need the final count of participants by Friday, August 31st to get our school registered for materials.  Here is a link if you would like to check out this program (please don not register yourself.  We have a school account)  Beth Ann Marshall is our coordinator.  She will have the sign up list during the next two staff meeting.
Book It!


We have a students who will start T2 reading interventions in the STEM lab  Tuesday @ 2:15.  Mrs. Rosetta will send the list to you.



Our Early Intervention program for Kindergarten friends starts Tuesday!

During Collaboration Tuesday, we'll be taking a look at our students data notebooks.  Please bring a hard copy that belongs to one of your students and make sure you've uploaded a digital copy.

Summer Challenge! 

Summer Challenge ends Friday, August 17.  On Monday, August 20, please collect all Summer Challenge information from your kids.  You may want to send a reminder home on Friday that it will be due on Monday.  I am placing a sheet in your box for you to use to record which kids completed the READING & WRITING challenge.  Rosetta will pull the data from Dreambox for the MATH challenge.  

This form is due to Rosetta by Wednesday, August 22. 

Data Notebooks

You should already have your data notebooks set-up and in the hands of the students.  Please get an electronic version loaded in the CES Teacher Resources Team Drive under the folder, Data Notebooks.  These need to be uploaded by the end of the day Friday.  

Be sure that the file you upload is complete, and legible as to the order and naming of the pages.  

We will be discussing data notebooks in our collaboration time on Tuesday. 

Dreambox Information

Parents need to make sure that they have accessed the Parent Portal in Dreambox.  Once in the portal, they can change the view of their standards to "Common Core Standards".  If you want a handout for the parents, you can retrieve it from the Teacher Resources in Team Drive. 

TAC Committee 

Please vote for the representative for your group of teachers that will serve as the TAC representative for 2018-2019.  This person will have a red dot on their box designating them as a TAC team member.  Everyone should vote by the end of the day on Monday.

Room Moms! The much anticipated moment of the year...just kidding.  Here are your room moms.  These are your head room moms, they can solicit help from any other mom as well.  But, this person should be your primary contact point for room mom duties.  Let us know if you have any questions.

This Week's Duty

All our Teacher Chat Nights have been set and they are on the calendar.  The parents will go directly to your rooms this year.  The Leadership Team is meeting Monday to help us create a checklist of items that MUST be included in your presentation.  We'll also have a place for you to upload your presentation.  We should have all the details to you by mid week.

Kindergarten, First and Second graders have through the end of the month to complete Math Performance Assessments.  Second graders will also need to complete the Reading Performance Assessment. Please contact Mrs. Rosetta with any questions.

The Deadline for the Summer Challenge is Friday, August 17! 

We will start Husky Paws this week!  Be strategic and make it work for what you need.  Avoid giving them to the entire class.  The power is in giving 10 -20 a day for a behavior you would like to reinforce.

It's B Week!

Collaboration this week will be spent working in CampFire -  All PST students must have a new entry.  We have a list of the students who need to be entered!

The master schedule has been updated with your recess schedule.  Please review over it and let Rosetta know if any changes need to be made.  Remember, recess is only 15 minutes -- manage your time during the transition to recess appropriately. 

CHROMEBOOKS!

Chromebooks are in the library and ready for you to pick up.  Find the cart with your name on it.  Be sure to count the number of Chromebooks and Chargers.  You are responsible for the number assigned to you during the year.
