Remember to Wear your new green staff shirt this Thursday.  We have a professional photographer coming to take our picture at 2:30, Thursday afternoon.

Here's the link for the 5-Deep plan.  Please look through the list as soon as possible and write your name beside the students that you know.  To me, "knowing" means that you can tell me something about them.  5-Deep Activity

Please make sure you are updating your grades in PS weekly.  All grades for Progress Reports should be in by 3PM Tuesday.

Please take a minute to print your Classroom Behavior Plan in LincSprings and send me a copy.  You can place it in my box or send by email.

We need to make sure we have your cell phone number for Crisis planning.  Please use This Google Form to send us your most updated number.  We will not share it with others without your permission.

The Leadership Team will meet again Thursday afternoon to discuss; cultural observances, Flocabulary, Nearpod and timing for Trimester Celebrations.  If you have other questions or input into any subjects mentioned, please pass them along to your Leadership Team rep or me.

Flu shots are on the calendar for Thursday!  If you signed up to get a shot when you have students, you may bring them with you and seat them in the hall.  Please don't not leave them in a classroom unattended.

🌺 Leadership Team Notes

How are Morning Meetings going?  Everyone seems to be enjoying the time and the students are responsive.  Third grade asked if they could start their MM at 8:15-8:20 instead of immediately after announcements.  We agreed that was fine, and I am thankful for the information! It helps us when doing walkthroughs.

Are we making any changes to the Wall of Fame?  Last year we used only the fluency score for AIMSWeb qualifications.  This year we will use the composite score. This is for Reading and Math.  I expect more students will qualify.

Considering our new commitment to Be Ready, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, should we add in some non-verbal commands?  We decided to move away from the "time out" signal that has been used in the past and all use the "hushing husky" sign to indicate that everyone needs to stop talking.  We'd also like to add "3 fingers" as a sign to Check Yourself for compliance of the 3 R's.

Can we still have outdoor picnics with parents for lunch? Yes, but we do have some conditions.  Let's limit to one in the Spring and one in the Fall.  It should be the entire grade level on the same day and please let me know so I can add to the calendar.  Officer Antonio will be outside with you.

Can we have common morning hallway expectations?  We decided that students should come to your designated area and get out a book to read.  Students must have teacher's permission to be on a Chromebook and Chromebook activity should be limited to Successmaker or AR.

We didn't know about the "wear gold for cancer" day until we saw it on FB.  Can we be notified first?  I'm sorry about that.  That is always my intent. I posted on FB and sent the email to you for distribution within the same 10 minutes late Sunday afternoon, but I'm not sure which one I did first!  This was a last minute choice. I'll do my best to think ahead a little better.

May we expect students to place all Chromebooks in their backpack before they leave the classroom and to go directly to the bus. No stopping at the eraser machine.? YES!  I'll reinforce during announcements

Can we dress up with the High School during homecoming week?  If we did, we would be dressing up two weeks in a row!  Our Red Ribbon Week is the week after homecoming.  I'm going to look at some of the home game Friday themes.  Maybe we can join in some of those. Dressing up two weeks in a row is just too disruptive.

Are there guidelines for Mystery Readers, Guests and field trips?  Yes the BOE gave us guidelines.  The biggest change is the number of Field Trips for our K-2 students.  I've added this document to the Teachers Resource drive.  Protecting Instructional Time

Lunch Visitors
We saw an upswing in lunch guest last week!  The office staff is following the lunch schedule located in the Teacher Resources Drive.  We will only allow guests to come to the cafeteria area 10 min earlier than the time on the schedule.  Mrs. Ellis also made a poster of that schedule that is located in the sign in area.  We must all use the same schedule!  If we are running out of space at the "Guests Tables" please let me know ASAP and we set up tables in front of the library for overflow.

From one of my favorites, Jon Gordon...........
No matter what anyone says, just show up and do the work.
If they praise you, show up and do the work.
If hey criticize you, show up and do the work.
If no one even notices you, just show up and do the work.
Just keep showing up, doing the work, and leading the way.
Lead with passion.
Fuel up with optimism.
Have faith.
Power up with love.
Maintain hop.
Be stubborn.
Fight the good fight.
Refuse to give up.
Ignore the critics.
Believe in the impossible.
Show up.
Do the work.
You'll be glad you did
True grit leads to true success.

I'll be working hard to join your Morning Meetings again this week! Just a reminder., All students will participate in a classroom Morning Meeting every morning immediately following announcements. This is a District expectation that I wholeheartedly support.

Let's help out our delivery trucks and general functioning of parking areas by always parking in a designated parking spot!

September is officially designated as School Attendance Awareness Month.  Students who have perfect attendance Sept. 6-30 will receive a bracelet and popsicle party.  Students who have 1 absence will receive the bracelet.  Students must be at school 51% of the day to be considered present.

AR Info:- Students in grades 1-5 should have and AR plan that includes monitoring test scores, monitoring/setting expectations for frequency of test taking, accuracy, personal goals and incentives.  Please meet with your team and let me know the plan!
