When you find a SHAMROCK, put your name on the back and get it back to Barbara.  She'll add the copies to your account!  Happy Hunting! Shamrocks will be replenished every weekend in March

If you have duty and you will be out during the week, planned or emergency, please have a "go to" friend that you can swap duty times. An adult presence in every duty spot, on time, is very important.  If you can't find anyone, let me or Rosetta know.

Breakfast at Cahaba!  Breakfast has become THE place to be at Cahaba.  So, we've had to adjust some of the expectations to accommodate the numbers.
1.  ALL students should enter the middle door (door 2)
2. Students should ALL sit on one side of the table, unless it's a cohort, carpool group or siblings.
3.  All student should be social distance, unless it's a cohort, carpool group or siblings.
4. Students should leave the cafeteria as soon as they eat - SO, there's no reason for anyone to have a Chromebook or book out.  Eat and Leave.
5. Always exit the door closest to the teacher work room.

Leadership Team will meet next week - Please send any questions to any member of the Team.

On the Calendar this Week.....
Thursday - District PD - Virtual
Thursday - Virtual Fire Drill
Friday - Virtual Learning Day and Last Day of Second Trimester

Guidelines for Virtual Learning Day
From Dr. Berry

·     Business as usual- since the beginning of school F2F/virtual teachers have utilized Schoology for placement of assignments. Students will simply log into Schoology from home. Ensure chrome books go home previous to February 19 and March 12th.

-          Assignments are of appropriate length. Use the following guidelines as transitions, lunch, recess, etc. won’t occur:

-          Pre-School – 30 minutes

-          K - 3   a combined 60 minutes

-          4 - 5   a combined 90 minutes

-          6 – 12   30 minutes per teacher (content areas)

-          K - 5  30 minutes specials (whatever special they are scheduled for that day)

·         Students should follow their regular schedule for the day.

·         Virtual teachers will continue to utilize lessons from F2F teachers and add to their Schoology class.

·         Virtual teachers may conduct live Zoom meetings on these two days and Sonday groups as they typically would

·         Teachers will communicate to their students a 2 hour office hour window so that they may be able to assist or answer any questions.

·         Teachers should plan to assess all work given to students (formative or summative)-just as they normally would and provide feedback.

·         Follow current pacing guide. This is an instructional day and lessons should be a continuation of the classroom content being taught.

·         Communicate in newsletters and provide correspondence to parents in advance regarding what the expectations for the day will be.

·         Parent/Student technology helpline will be available

Teachers should reach out to parents to let them know they are available for any questions relative to accessing Schoology prior to February 19th.

Sonday Groups, Essential Groups and ELL pull out services are SUPER important.  Please make sure you are sending your students to these groups.  Make every effort to schedule "fun" activities at a time when all students are scheduled to be in your classroom.

Our Random Acts of Kindness Campaign starts this Wednesday.  Please share your grade level flyer in your newsletters and through your distribution list. Rachel has several parents who will help with the gathering and dispersing.  I'm expecting us to have a nice turnout.  You may even want to offer a Husky Paw for any student bringing in a donation.

Prayer Group will start meeting again every Wednesday morning at 7:20 in the front conference room. We will have a very brief devotional thought and spend just a few members praying for our school and each other.  This short meeting is open to everyone.  No one is required to pray aloud or share aloud. You can also come in late and leave early.

Please look over this page in our handbook about Morning Duty!

Thank you all for meeting with us last week to discuss Success Maker.  Several of you brought up the challenge of keeping intervention students interested in Success Maker during Enrichment block.  I've thought about this over the weekend and I really want you to do everything you can to keep them going until the next time the PST data is reviewed.  If they know they are working for improvement on the progress monitoring, maybe they will work toward that goal. Then, reward them with letting them have a "day off" once a week.  That's the only way that we'll figure out if Success Maker is working.  Please keep talking to us and let us know your struggles. This great Cahaba Team can troubleshoot any obstacle!

PST Updates for January/February

PST Process...January/February --

New Referrals and PST Updates will be due by February 9, 2021

Here is the Process:

1. Referrals will be submitted using the Google Form below.
2. Referral information will be reviewed by PST members; action steps and goals will be put into the plan based off your information.
3. You will receive a copy of the plan to review.
4. Plan reviews should be completed within 2 days of receiving the plan.  This is your time to ask questions about the plan and/or agree/disagree with the action steps, goals, etc.  You can email Mrs. Rosetta with any feedback.
5. Teachers will implement the plan to fidelity and collect data.
6. Evidence will be uploaded to the student's Google Drive Folder that is shared with you -- if you have students attending SONDAY or Essentials, it is your responsibility to contact the person providing the service to get their data
7. Teachers will reassess the student using the progress monitoring tool identified in the plan, and in the time frame the plan recommends.
8. Teachers will complete the update form (see below) for students currently in RTI.
9. PST information will be reviewed and the same process above will be used.

Other pieces of data to consider when referring your students for PST and updating their information:

STAR EL, STAR, Performance Series, AR, Differentiated Strategies may not be working, classroom interventions are not enough, SONDAY/Essentials
