Putting furniture and supplies in the hallways is absolutely prohibited!  Please use this "trash to treasures" link to advertise items you would like to discard.  After a few weeks, if there is no activity, talk to Barbara about discarding.  We don't have any storage areas!  When we do, this policy will be amended.    One Person's Trash is Another Person' Treasure

Schedule your Recess Time with

Remember:
1.  Recess is Tuesday - Friday for 15 minutes
2.  Recess should not back up to PE.  Students should not go to recess from PE or go to PE from recess.
3.  No more than 2 classes should be on the K/1 playground at the exact same time.
4.  No more than 3 classes should be on the 2-5 playground (opening in Sept) at the same time. 








Everyone in grades 3-5 should have a cursive alphabet displayed on your classroom wall.




Idea Alert!   We've had several parents contact the school this year asking for ideas of things they can buy for their new teacher's classroom.  I'm suggesting a Teacher's Wish List display for Meet the Teacher and Chat Nights.  This display would include Post It's, or something similar, that the parent could take with them with information for classroom needs. Please talk to Tyner or Barbara is you have any questions.  You may not send out a supply list that is different from the one posted on our website or in addition to supplies bought through the school. Ideas on Pintrest -  I would suggest that you be very specific - list the store/vendor, item number and/or brand. Make certain that everyone understands that this is 100% voluntary.

REVISED LUNCH SCHEDULE - K-1 Schedule

As many of you know, Mrs. Harrison has joined the Kindergarten Team.  With that move the master schedule had to be adjusted.  This is the revised lunch schedule.  I deleted the first one I published. 

Kindergarten and First Grade Schedules are posted below and I also revised the original posting on 7/3.

Updates!

Class list will be emailed by grade level Thursday.  Letters will also be mailed to parents Thursday. PLEASE don't discuss your list with anyone.  Some of your students may not be getting a letter yet because all of their enrollment documents have not been verified. 








Waxing will be completed and everyone will have access to their rooms Monday, July 23rd.





The newest timeline on our construction being completed is mid October.






Volunteers from FBC Trussville will be here Aug. 4th.  I've asked them to pressure wash the exterior of the gym and the front porch, clean interior glass (office/media center) and shampoo carpets.  If you would like your classroom rug shampooed, lay is out flat in the hallway outside your room and the team will shampoo it for you on Aug. 4th.  They will not unroll rugs or retrieve them form your classroom. :) 




Meet the Teacher events are right around the corner.  PLEASE do not promise parents that they will be your Homeroom Mom.  please use this link to enter the name(s) of your choice.  After we have a chance to review, we will "approve" your choice.  The number one thing I am hoping to avoid, is having one parent serve as room mom for multiple classrooms.  We really want to get as many people involved as possible and this isn't a good practice at all.

Update on Billy! We had heart catheter this morning at Brookwood. He will have his aortic valve replaced and 1 bypass on his main artery on July 19th at Brookwood. He is tired from today, but is very positive about this.  We spoke to the surgeon who will perform surgery and he is 99% sure he will be fine during and after surgery. He said he should be good to do knee surgery 6-8 weeks after his heart surgery.  Thank you for your prayers! 







The waxing crew has not shown up at Cahaba!  As soon as the waxing is complete, I'll let you know.  The last I heard....  "everything will be finished by the 16th"




I'll update  you on the construction after the Board Meeting on July 16th.




If you haven't heard.............   Kathy Kelly resigned to spend more time with her granddaughters.   If you have a minute, please send Kathy a note and wish her well!









A few of us are going to YAK the Creek - Friday, August 20th.  Please let me or Barbara know if you would like to join us!  Children and spouses are invited too, but I need a head count asap!
