Educator Effectivess

Educator Effectiveness is in Schoology this year.

Please be sure that you have completed the Receipt of Professional Documents and Self-Assessment.  This is due by September 30

The PLP is to be completed by October 23.

Be sure to list your indicator when completing the PLP. Be thorough when identifying your strategies & impact on students.  Try to model what we have provided you with below when writing your second indicator.

We chose the school-wide indicator together.  You will choose which indicator best fits your professional needs in the classroom for your second indicator.

The school-wide indicator that you voted on is Positive Classroom Environment -- teachers create a safe classroom environment of fairness and respect by the ways they interact with students and by the interactions they encourage and cultivate among students, while fostering a sensitivity to diversity.

The following identifies Effective & Exemplary characteristics of a Positive Classroom Environment for both the teacher (top) and student (bottom).

Proposed Actions & Strategies: (you can add additional actions & strategies)
  • Establish classroom norms & a social contract with the students.
  • Use husky paws as a positive recognition.
  • Hold class meetings and set goals.
  • Celebrate successes and achievement.
  • Set individual goals and review of goals with students.

Proposed Implementation of Plan/Time Frame:

August 2020 - May 2021

Expected Impact on Students: (you can add to this)

Students will be more comfortable and confident in their learning environment.  The students will then be more invested in their own learning and be happier when at school. They will feel a sense of community when here, and be more encouraged to step out, accept challenges, and learn new things.

You may have noticed an app on your students' clever dashboards.  SORA is a new eBook resource.  SORA hosts over 200 ebooks purchased for Trussville City Schools and connects our library to the Jefferson County Library Cooperative.  This connection will give our students access to all of the juvenile eBook collections available in the JCLC.  Mrs. Prickett will be teaching students how to use this app during library class.
