Please remind your student that we don't wear hats or hoods inside the building unless they have earned that as a reward.

Please take a minute to nominate a Kindergarten, First or Second grade teacher for our April Team Member of the Month!  Our most recent honorees were Jones and Patterson.

The Wall of Fame is big deal to some of our students and their families.  Several have asked about the Milestone associated with AIMSWeb.  We decided to find a measure that ALL grade levels have and that is Fluency.  We don't use the composite score in any grade but Kindergarten.  Please let me know if you have questions. (ORF and NSF)

We celebrated Barbara and Nancy last week because I told you that last Thursday was Administrative Assistants Day.  It WAS NOT!  It's actually April 27. So, if you missed it, you have another chance!  #betterearlythanlate

You've just a couple more days to get your door, your room and your wall area ready for company! I appreciate everything that is already up and I look forward to seeing what is yet to come.

Prayers for these loved ones........
Continue to pray for Jenn, Obed, Searcy and Harper Ellis
April Smith will have knee surgery late this week.  Pray for 100% recovery and minimal pain.
Michelle Searcy's father is in ICU and not doing well.
Strength and health for Bob Wessel.

Officer Antonio appreciates those of you who have been sending him texts messages when you see something suspicious on campus.  He would request that you add your name to the text!  When you say, "I saw a man outside my window", he doesn't know where!

Reminder: If you need to leave campus for any reason during the school day, even during your planning time, you need to make sure you check with me first. Leaving campus should be reserved for emergencies.

Please send me the names of any student(s) you are recommending for retention and/or the parent has requested retention by April 14
I also need the following information:
1. Are they in the PST process? Monitor, T2 or T3?
2. Do they have a SRIP?
3. Do the parents support this decision?
4. If so, Please look in the Teacher Resources Drive in the folder labeled "Forms" and get this completed and given back to me. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1fBRkkvA4Wp9erp6OScI2Aqjb-KEUL-uu/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=113006932741261199353&rtpof=true&sd=true
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Update on Tony's wife,Tanya: For several months she has been having trouble breathing and has been very tired. Last Thursday she went for her oncology check up.  Her latest tests indicate a 3-5% decrease in Tanya's heart function. They have changed some of her medication, but know that they are going to have to come up with a new plan.  Please keep Tanya, Tony and their family in your prayers

Playground Supervision
The weather is getting prettier and the recess issues are rearing their ugly head!  Please remember these expectations.
1. No more than 2 classrooms on the little playground and 3 classrooms on the big playground at the same time.
2. Space yourself around the playground so you can see every place students are playing. If students are playing basketball, someone needs to be close by watching. Don't allow students to occupy places you cannot see.
3. Practice tracking from one side of the area to the other.
4. Please limit your time to 15 minutes.  If your class earns extra recess, do that at a different time, not as a add on.

Please remember Angela Shorter in your prayers.  She had out patient arthroscopic surgery on her knee before Spring Break. She has been doing well and planned to be back tomorrow. Today blood clots were discovered behind her knee, in her calf and in both lungs. She was just admitted at St. Vincent's downtown.

I really enjoy the beginning of the year, the end the year is exhausting for me! Some of you have shared the same feelings. ACAP and AIMS testing is important and we all focus on the results for months and months. It's just stressful! Today I was thinking that I really need to adopt a mindset that would help me lead you to a strong finish full of energy and excitement.  You deserve that and so do our students.  My go-to for the days I'm tired and defeated is always thankfulness.  If I stop and write down all that I have to be thankful for and share at least one affirmation with someone, my entire day and week turn around. So, I give you that challenge too. Focus on the Good.  There is so much to be thankful for and YOU are at the top of my list.

Sent to me by a staff member,......

"My hope is that we speak no negative words, have no ill-will or ugly thoughts, that we all trust in the all-knowledgeable God for He knows and understands what we don't. He knows the heart of mankind.  He alone can fight our battles and give us victory.  Let's join together in prayer for the success of our students. I'm praying God's favor on each of them and His continued favor on Cahaba Elementary.  We are stronger together and we will stand united in faith and hope. This is where our minds and hearts need to rest in knowing that our Father is in charge over all things even those things man devices against us.  In focusing on our students, we are doing good.  The pleases God. Praying favor on our students in Jesus' name.
