If you haven't already, make sure you have completed your PLP in LincSprings.

Our Annual Kindergarten Fairy Tale Ball is Friday.  The main event will be held in the gym.  Fifth Grade PE will be on the track Friday.

Your Leadership Team met last week and talked primarily about adding Flocabulary to our menu of software programs that we use at Cahaba.  We also had a discussion about dress up days before Christmas break.  They will happen! and we will be sensitivity to our student population that does not celebrate Christmas as a religious holiday. Stay tuned, more information

If your students are working independently on their Chromebooks, you should have Go Guardian up on your computer! Don't forget this important layer of supervision.

Thanksgiving Week has two "Remote Learning Days".  For grades 2-5, students will complete lessons you have loaded in Schoology.  Kindergarten and First may send packets home if you feel the students will have trouble accessing Schoology or do a "combo" approach.  I was also notified that you may choose to work at home or in the building on these two days.  However, you must have a 2 hour window of time that you designate as your office hours for the day. This time should be communicated to your students' parents. Let Barbara or me know if you have any questions.

Start thinking about MUSH grant ideas today!  The Foundation will accept applications October 28- November 30.

What about the all important parent communication?! ?!
Don't forget the expectations for "positive" phone calls.  Please make certain you have instigated a positive phone call or in person conversation with ALL of your parents before Thanksgiving (ex ed teachers too!). PLEASE don't overuse email.  Your voice soothes!

Halloween is just around the corner and we have plans!

Please consider entering the Staff Pumpkin Decorating Contest! (Lots of prizes!)  Students will judge 10/28. Winners announced 10/31  Details are in the flyer above. Registration starts Monday!

Mrs. Smith is creating a Seasonal STEM activity for each grade level for an optional activity for Halloween.  I will provide the supplies.

All students will attend the 3rd grade Fall program at 1:45 - 10/31

PTO providing  your lunch on Halloween!

We are trying out a new system for scheduling our three conference spaces. The "scheduling calendars" will be placed on the console table in the main office area.  This is the table directly under the big CES old logo.  The Collaboration Room should only be used for meetings with other staff members. The Office Conference Room and the Conference Room beside the Historic entrance can both be used for meetings with parents.  Please make every effort to write your plans in one of the calendars in the office before you confirm with a parent.
BTW - meetings with parents may also be held in your
classroom after 3:15

Please take a few minutes this week to challenge your students to participate in our fundraiser.
It's a great math activity!
