Please make an effort to come to Family Night.  Our parents have had very few chances to see you.  This would be a great one!

Once again, our PTO has come up with a fun way to raise some money!  March 17th will be the "Running of the Leprechauns" at Cahaba.  This will be very similar to what we did last year with the "Turkey Trot".  The event will be held on the track and done during PE.  Parents will be invited to join their students during PE at the track. Our students will be introduced to the idea Monday during PE.  There's a flyer that will go home and some things that will go home through email distribution and of course prizes to be won.  Last, but not least!  Please wear the shirt that was put in your box Friday to school Monday!

The Great Shamrock Hunt is BACK!  March 1-18 Shamrocks will be hidden throughout the building with varying number of copies written on the back.  You may turn in 3 a week to Barbara and the combined amount will be added to your copy number. EX: You find a 50, 100 and 75. Then, you spy one for 500!  Take it and re-hide one of your others for someone else to have fun finding.  HINT...  You probably want to wait until late in the week to turn in your Shamrocks to Barbara. Happy Hunting!

Check the Blog for a post made Feb. 22.  There you'll find the ACAP Summative Schedule for April.

Some IMPORTANT House Keeping Items
1.Make sure emails sent to you "For Distribution" are sent out through your parent email distribution list within 24 hours.
2. Check out your areas of the halls and make sure we don't have up student work that is over 4-5 weeks old.
3. Check over the Trimester Celebration Goggle Doc - Please let me know if you see mistakes. I would hate to leave someone off the list!

I'm still taking nominations for a Specialist or Exceptional Ed teacher for Team Member of the Month!  Our most recent honorees were Tara Cravens and Stephanie Young.

As some of you may know, the Ellis trial has been postponed to mid April. Jenn plans to be back at Cahaba Tuesday.  I know we will all be glad to see her!

Interventions, goal setting, SRIPs and all the things have been on the forefront of all our minds.  This is just a reminder of the importance of progress monitoring.  Those data points are vital, so don't forget to make that a part of your weekly routine for our T2 and T3 students.  And, of course any other students you may chose to monitor.

A message from Mrs. Osburn........
If any student makes a comment that is "suicide" related, please send me an email.  I will pull that student that day and follow through the mandated protocols. I will also report to Mrs. Tyner and get back with you on how this situation was addressed.

TWOSDay 2-22-22  From our PTO

I just wanted to give you a quick update on a few things planned for Twosday.

We will have two photo areas set up for class pictures.  We are making photo props for each class and will leave them outside your classroom.  I’ll be emailing your Room Moms to discuss fun snacks themed for the day.  Also in that email I will attach a time capsule worksheet that the students can fill out, seal up and open on 3-3-33😊 I’ll be sure they know to contact you to find out exactly what you would like for the day. Of course we want to make sure that the day is special for you as well.  Be sure to stop by the break room on Twosday for your surprise!!

Alternate PE Schedule for Thursday - February 17th

8:15-8:45 - Third Grade
10:45-11:15 - Fourth Grade
11:20 -11:50 - Fifth Grade
11:55-12:25 - Kindergarten
12:30 - 1:00 - First Grade
1:05 - 1:35 - Second Grade

We can run our typical Thursday Specials with the exception of First Grade.  I don't think they'll be finished with their second performance in time.

Performances will be........
9:00: Kindergarten, Second and Third Grade (teachers can meet them in the gym)
10:00: Fourth (stay in the gym for PE after the program) and Fifth

Tips for a Successful Tornado Drill
1.Please know what door of the "shelter" you enter.  You were assigned of them.. 1. Teacher Workroom door  2. All three doors of the cafeteria AND 3. the side kitchen door nearest Kindergarten
2. Know what side of the hall you are on and stay on that side.
3. Prep your kids! They should also know exactly where and what to do.
4. When inside the "shelter". Stay quite.

Friday marks the end of the second trimester! Please follow through with our Goal Setting by celebrating the students that met their goals.  Flip Grids that can be posted and/or emailed are a great way to acknowledge our students.  If not now, at the time they do meet their goals.

We will meet to pray for the Ellis family each morning at 7:30 in the front conference room by the library. Everyone is welcome all days or any day.  If you would like to volunteer to lead any day this week, please let me know. Be it 2, 10 or 20 people, we will lift up our friend.
