Welcome Mr Corey Hall.  Mr. Hall is completing our TCS mentor program and will be spending time at Cahaba over the next several weeks. He currently works at HTHS as an Assistant Principal.

Officer Antonio asks that we please remind students that they shouldn't open an exterior door for anyone!  Not even him!

Winter always brings on a little slump in attention to the details.  I know you would all agree, the little things accumulate into big things that can have a negative impact on our overall attitudes and the efficiency of the school.  Please take a minute to read through these simple reminders.

Please review your classes schedule and BE ON TIME!  Arrive on time for PE, Specials and lunch. Pick up on time for PE and Specials.  When you are not intentional, it's a ripple effect that creates problems for other classes.

Require your students to walk quietly in the halls. When you go to lunch, PE and Specials, the classrooms you pass are in the middle of instructional time. Please model this behavior for your students. It's really important.  If the weather permits, walk outside.

Secure your walker passes and have a plan for handing them out to the correct students daily.

Never, ever leave your class unattended.  If students are in a room, an adult is in the room with them.

Please take a minute and nominate one of our Classified Staff members for Team Member of the Month.  Our most recent honorees have been Nurse Amy and Officer Antonio.

All Valentine Parties will be on February 14th.  Each grade level should send Nancy your time.  No more than 3 parents, please and they cannot come more than 30 minutes early.  No parties may start before 8:45 and all must be finished by 2:30.  Please plan for your parties to last no longer than 45 minutes.

Thank you to our Leadership Team for creating our School Vision Board and giving us such impactful statements.  I'm working on uploading all information/directions into a folder labeled "Vision Boards" in the Teacher Resources drive.  Team Vision Boards are due on February 7th.  However, that can be negotiated.  Just let me know if you need more time.

Please remember that ACCESS Testing is just like any other State Test.  The testing rooms are the Coaches Room and the Collaboration room.  Those will be quite zones! January 25-27

If you have students with low averages, C's or lower, please start the process for conferencing with these parents now.  I would prefer that we  make the first contact and not wait on them to "ask for help". This is also appropriate for K, 1st and 2nd grade students.  If the student is performing in the bottom 20% of your class, it's time for a conference!  Conferences should be scheduled after school M, T, or W and any day during your planning.  You will need to check the calendar for planned collaboration days. Let me know if you need me to attend.  AND - write them in the book in the office so you'll have a conference room secured.

Thank you for your diligence in motivating our students through AIMSWeb.  The initial data looks good and I'm proud of you and our students.  There is much work to be done before ACAP in April. I urge you all to use the Test Blueprints to guide you. If that means stepping outside of the norm, do it.  Take advantage of all the practice information offered in Schoology and LINCSprings and set our kids up for success. Please let me know how I can support you.
