Weekly Update Take Two 8.11

How to apply and use FERPA in your own classroom – Everything ...   Please remember, disclosing information to anyone other than the Principal or the school nurse about a Covid Diagnosis, is a FERPA violation. So, what do I do if a parent tells me their child or someone else in the home has Covid?  1. Report to the nurse.  2. If there are instructional concerns, talk to the Principal.  You may NOT tell your teacher friends, other staff members, or other parents.

Plan to have hand sanitizer that you can share with your students at all times.  Key times to sanitize or wash hands. 1. Before and after PE. 2. Before and after Recess 3. Before and after lunch. 4. Before and after snack 5. Before and after touching any classroom equipment; document camera, smart-board pen, etc...

Rogue hand sanitizers toxic, may cause methanol poisoning

Please have your cell phone with you and turned on when you are not in your classroom.  Help us out by filling in your cell number in the google doc located in the Teacher Resources shared drive.

Every child should have a Chromebook and charger assigned to them and sent home during the staggered days.  Please be sure that your parents know these are coming home, and that they should be charged nightly.  If a student forgets to charge their Chromebook, you can email Mrs. Prickett and she will check out a charger for the student to use for the day.  If a student forgets their Chromebook AND it affects your instruction for the day, email Mrs. Prickett and she will check out a Chromebook for the day.  Consider placing more attention and emphasis on the students who come to school  with their chrome book charged and ready to learn. Always remember the power of positive reinforcement. We'll figure this out as we move along.Properly used, positive reinforcement is extremely powerful ...

All of you signed a Covid-19 Survey that allowed you to return to work.  This survey should be updated if anything changes.  For example, the first question, "Have you, or anyone in your household, experienced any of the following symptoms in the last 14 days: ......." and it list the symptoms.  To help with the interpretation, If anyone in your home has symptoms, you should stay home too. By coming to work, you could be exposing all of us to the virus.  These are stressful days and I know that we are all doing our best. We'll make it through by putting others first and leaning (virtually) on each other for support.  Let us know if you have any questions.

Don't forget - Your personal children should not come into your rooms before school starts.  They have been sanitized and ready for the day.  They can come to your room after school.  Tony will sanitize every room, every day between 4:00 - 6:00.

Tomorrow is gonna be a great day
