Candice Tillman's last day of radiation is Tuesday, February 20th. It was suggested that each grade level make a poster or banner to hang in the cafeteria to celebrate her! She has been a warrior with the best attitude throughout this entire journey. Please get the banners/posters to Mrs. Young. She is going to find a team of people to help hang these Tuesday, February 20th, when Candice is out. Candice will walk into the cafeteria Wednesday the 21st to displays of love and support from all our students.
We are entering the time of year, some of our students (and parents) are focusing on AR points, SM hours etc...... Please use your newsletter to remind parents that all AR test will be taken at school. We can delete tests not taken at school. If you need to talk about this, I'm always available. If you have any feedback, let me know.
We could use another staff member to help with Priority Kids on Wednesday mornings. This would only be for check in, 7:15 -7:30. Please let me know if you can help!
The Visitor Form in the Drive has been edited! Please use the new copy. I changed the "time section", to be clearer for Cissie. Now we'll have an exact time for the "guest" to enter and leave.
Mrs. Watts is working on SRIPs. All the SRIPs must be updated with YOUR progress monitoring. Please make sure all your T2 and T3 students have updated progress monitoring in AIMS.
Door Decoration Contest!
This will be a part of Read Across America Week. Classroom Doors should be decorated to represent a BOOK (not a movie). The Book Title and Author should be a part of your decorations. You may choose to do your own door or have parents do this for you. As long as the parents do not come in your classroom, they may decorate during the day and avoid the guest form. Please let Cissie know that you are expecting someone. If not, she'll have to call your room and that is so disruptive. I'll also let them in after school hours or on the weekend. If they want to come after 4pm during the week or on the weekend, someone will have to let them in. If you can't, check with me and I'll help them or I'll find somebody! Parents may start decorating Friday, March 1st. Judging will occur Thursday morning, March 7. We will give prizes (free copies, book fair bucks and gift cards) for the following categories.
Most Artistic
Most Creative
Best Use of Student Work
Best Over All
If you know of a particular color of butcher paper you'll need, please let Barbara know so we'll be sure to have it.
One more thing! Typically, children come with parents. I would suggest keeping your door locked March 1 - March 7, unless you are in your room.
