I know we are all sad to know that we'll be doing the "Cahaba Thing" next year without Ashlynn Tittle and Danielle Ray. Danielle will still be around as a "stay home mom" and in just a few short years as a Cahaba Kindergarten Mom. Ashlynn's fiancé' is a realtor in Huntsville and their wedding is scheduled for early Fall. She'll be moving to the Huntsville area this summer. I am excited to tell you that our new employees were approved at the Board meeting last week. McKinna Fulmer, from Georgia, will be our new Special Education teacher in the Self-Contained room and Sarah Jackson, wife of Dewayne Jackson (IT), will be our new SLP. I know you will all make the feel welcomed!
Kindergarten, First, Second and Third teachers, please take just a minute to use this link to add some information for me about your students who have SRIPs. Who has a SRIP?
Congratulations to our Science Olympiad Team who competed last weekend at Auburn. As soon as I have all the official results, I will share! I appreciate Lisa Rish's leadership with the group. I heard it was a great day!
Please take some time to look over the Cahaba Calendar. Don't let anything sneak up on you!
Make sure you put "Classroom Awards" on your radar. This is something that you each do with your students. Every child should get an award during this fun ceremony. If you need help thinking of Awards and Recognitions, please brainstorm with your team and/or let me know. Pinterest is always helpful too. You may schedule this during the last two weeks of school and parents are not invited to come in person. You may livestream.
Thursday is Get Ahead of the Pack Day at Cahaba. Every grade level will move up to the next grade and spend the morning rotating through ALL classrooms in the next grade level. Move up day will start immediately following morning announcements and last until 1:00. You will take your "new" students to lunch and PE. More specifics will be sent before the end of the Monday.
Due to Get Ahead of the Pack, First grade and Fifth grade will change their NO Specials day to Thursday. Kindergarten (who will be in 1st) will be the only grade level to have Specials Thursday.
