We have a busy week! Tuesday is Christmas Movie Character Day and Thursday, Polar Express Day.  That doesn't mean that we will have movie days. This week will be all about the holiday, but our academic expectations are still in place.  Also, remember, free time on computers without any structure always ends badly. What a great week to read and write.  I bet someone has already thought of a holiday based math investigation. Please post some of your great ideas on twitter or FB.

Barbara is still collecting money to help pay for a plaque that we will put in the serving line area in memory of Lana.  Friday will be the last day to give. 

Tomorrow's party!
- We will have the reveal and final gift for Secret Santa!
- Bring a wrapped ornament for an ornament swap
- Bring an unwrapped item from your classroom that you don't want (fun and games)








Please email me a picture of your students working on the Angel Card Project.  I'd also appreciate a picture of a couple of your best cards.  This is such a tremendous opportunity!







I emailed every teacher that has a student assigned to the TTR Lab a new schedule that will start Tuesday.  If you have any questions, please let me know.  This schedule will run through the end of January. 

Important Information regarding Teacher Absences

- If you know you are going to be absent put the sub request in 

Ready Sub AND a request in the Time System ASAP.

- If you do not have a sub the day before your absence, 

please let Nancy know.  She may be able to give you guidance.

- If you do not have a sub the morning of your absence, 

please email or text Mrs. Tyner ASAP.

- There is a new folder in the TEACHER RESOURCES Team Drive.  

It is named SPLIT PLAN.  As soon as you can, please upload a document that details the way you would like your students split up and to which teacher.  I will only use this in case of an emergency.  Please include the way the child goes home.

-  In the event that there is not a sub.  An administrator 

will make the decisions about using the plan and either 

an administrator or our counselor will orchestrate the movement.

1. It was previously discussed and approved that staff meeting and collaboration would not

be scheduled on the Monday and Tuesday of the week that report cards are due. Will we be able to implement this for the second and third trimesters this year?

I'm going to give you the long answer, but the short answer is YES.

Wed. 10/24 - posting turned on

Fri. 10/26 - Last day of the grading period

Mon. 10/29 - Staff Meeting - BOE assigned date to name TOY, Renaissance update, signed up for duty. Dismissed at 2:45

Tues. 10/30 - Collaboration -Worked on Halloween Rotations (I didn't remember to cancel, I'm sorry)

Mon. 11/5 - Staff Meeting -District PD at Magnolia - Posting turned off

Tues. 11/6 - Collaboration canceled - Late start day - Verification sheets printed

Some of these events are out of my control. However, I will do my best to help you with planning time when you are working on report cards. We will have to use the Monday to sign up for duty, but that shouldn't take but a few minutes.

2. Have I missed if the TCS Educational Foundation will be giving us the opportunity to submit grants this year? I haven't heard anything about Foundation Grants this year. I emailed Mrs. Vernon and she said they would probably offer the opportunity in January.

I'm so glad that you all are using our FB page to find people to cover your duty when you are out.  However, it may be more efficient to contact someone directly.  Last week we had duty positions that were not covered, even though it was posted on FB.  It was probably because if wasn't seen.  Thank you for helping us out with this.

Some Reminders ~ 

Clinic Passes are VERY important!  Please make sure you send one.  Take your emergency bag to the playground.  It should have a pen and clinic passes in it.

Please follow your recess schedule. Nancy uses your schedule to locate children.




Lana's life was a blessing and so was her funeral.  Never forget Jeremiah 29:11-13  "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

I would like for us to partner with the Child Nutrition staff to purchase a plaque with Lana's picture to go in the serving area.  If you would like to contribute, please give that money to Barbara by the end of this week.

Lana's family wanted to establish some sort of fund that people could contribute to continue Lana's mission to give to children.  That money will go into an account.  If you ever have a child in need, let us know.  Some of that money will be used to provide extra ice cream and food for students. 

Don't forget our staff party next Monday afternoon, 

December 10th.  Our PTO is going ALL OUT!  It's going to be fun.  

If you'd like to participate in an ornament swap, please bring a 

wrapped ornament to the party.  

We will also have our Secret Santa reveal.  

More directions will come from the PTO this week.

Secret Santas were giving out gifts that were cool!
Each week had a theme for a gift to include
And a little encouragement to brighten their mood.
Twas the first week of giving, and what did they find?
They gave fits like candles or lotions to help teachers unwind.
Twas the second week of giving, and what do teachers need?
Cute school supplies to help them succeed!
Twas the third week of giving , and the big reveal;
A gift card perhaps, for a coffee or meal!
Don't forget an encouragement for a positive vibe,
And have fun doing Secret Santa with our Tribe!
