Last week was a busy week! As I look back on our Award's Day Celebrations, I realize that I failed horribly at recognizing so many of you that stepped up to make last week possible. I may leave out someone, but I'm going to try to acknowledge as many as I can remember.....
Tina Fortenberry, thank you for working with our students and magically pulling off 3 grade level performances, as well as, performances by SHINE. The programs wouldn't have been nearly as meaningful without the children's music. Jenni Scott, I think we've all become spoiled to the quality of the art work you create for our stage decorations. It so far beyond expectations and always so beautiful. In addition, you found time to help me by creating a few special awards for Math Team. Coach G, we never have to worry about you being flexible and willing to have the gym ready at a minutes notice. You worked tirelessly with our custodial crew to make it look easy. And, you did that while doing the lions share of work for the Fifth grade Mystery Destination Trip. Now, this week ... here come the Field Days. They will come off without a hitch because of your planning too. April Smith, I can't wait to see the project you've been working on for this week and I appreciate you working with printing and organizing all the MD pictures for our fifth graders. Prickett, you helped so much with the filling out of the Millionaire Certificates and checking behind me. Amy Meredith, by volunteering to fill out Honor Roll certificates, you cut about 2 hours off my day. You are always available to help! A Shout Out to Barbara for filling out certificates, ordering all the awards and organizing them in our secret awards room. Props to Nancy for dealing with all the EXTRA traffic in the office with a smile on your face! All of this to say.... Programs, Field Days and the Mystery Destination Trip just don't happen. It took a village and I'm very thankful for my village.
Wednesday at dismissal, please walk to the buses with your children and we'll all wave them out for the summer. Last year, we all wore hats! Let's plan on doing this again. It really made the kids happy. When the buses are gone, we'll go to the car line.
THANK YOU to those of you who did classroom awards with such fanfare. The BEST -- Red Carpet for the kiddos to "strut" down while being done FB Live! I've had so, so, many comments from parents bragging on this idea!
Congratulations to Jana Feild, April Smith and Amy Prickett for winning the Alabama Bicentinal School Grant. We plan to incorporate their wonderful ideas into an EnRICh opportunity next year.
Please make sure you take down all hall and door displays -- This included getting hot glue off the walls!
Our Staff Picture that we took at Christmas was taken with a camera without a memory card! So, we'll be taking another staff picture Wednesday before our luncheon.
Information about the Cahaba Summer Challenge will be sent out sometime Monday -- Please go over it with your students.
We will reveal Secret Pals at our Staff Lunch Wednesday. Bring your final gift!
