Any updates on building construction?  They took soil samples late last week.  The last information I heard predicted a start date of late January.

Who will be in the new classrooms?  It's really early for me to make any concrete decisions about those rooms, but I suspect it'll be second grade.  I would like to have the option to move Pennington to the back hall as well as get Philpot out of the multipurpose room.  We'll see!

Why are their bathrooms in the new rooms?  are they designed for kindergarten or pre-school? Alabama code requires that any new additions onto a school be accompanied with an addition or a new safe space.  It was more cost effective to just make sure the entire 4 classroom addition also met all the criteria for a safe space, including bathrooms.  Once again, it was more cost effective to put the bathrooms in the classroom instead of building an additional gang bathroom.

How will secret pals be revealed?  We'll reveal at our Christmas party Dec. 11, scheduled for 2:30.

Any thoughts on how we'll do Christmas parties this year?  We're going to try scheduling them by grade level December 12, 13 and 14.  If you have any thoughts about when your grade level would like to have your parties, you can go ahead and email me (Tyner).

Will all the parents be invited?  yes

Have you given any thought to rotating the specials schedule? Monday's have taken a hit with all the holidays.  I have! We'll rotate those each trimester.

Are we having an assembly at the end of the trimester to recognize students.  Yes!  Trimester Celebration is scheduled for November 14.  The theme is : Get In The Game

Our Third grade classes are loaded.  Could we request a co-teacher like fifth grade had last year? Advanced Ed standards allow us to have up to 25 in each classroom and we are within those expectations.  However,We do have a student teacher coming the 3rd grade after Christmas!  I know she will be an asset.

Could we put a microwave in the cafeteria for the teachers?  Yes!  great idea - Ellison has one she'll donate and I'll get a table.

I also shared with the PAT team, my PLP targets for this school year.  1) Google proficiency 2) Communication with staff  3) Increasing Rigor in Relevance in our instruction

Cahaba will dress in Orange and Black on the 31st.  

November 1 we'll kick off our Food Drive for Team.  Rachel sent everyone a tabulation sheet so you can keep up with the number of items your students bring in.  We'll take this up November 22.  The winning class will take a field trip to TEAM.

Don't forget to register for the DreamBox Challenge.  We expect all our classrooms to compete.

Kindergarten will be giving the Early Literacy Test to ALL students between Nov. 1 - 9.

We welcome Jana Feild back, Wednesday, November 1.  A HUGE thank you to Christi Williamson!  We appreciate all your contributions to our students while Jana was out.

Friday, Nov. 3, marks the cut off for first semester AR

We are still missing a couple of schedules from the team drive.  Please make sure your has been uploaded.

The Rock-a-thon was just wonderful!  The weather was a mess, but our PTO had a Plan B and it worked beautifully.  We all appreciate all of you who stayed for hours or just came by.  The PTO ladies and I noticed everyone. THANK YOU!
