Summer Reminders
Tomorrow morning, July 17, I'll send out the link for the google form to sign up for Meet the Teacher times.
July 19 you are all invited to a luncheon at my house: 8016 Ballard Place. Please RSVP to me or Barbara - I don't mind your children coming, but please grab them some lunch before you come!
You may want to ride share
July 20 will be the cutoff for voting for your representative on the Leadership Team. Check your email for the link to the ballot.
Teacher assignments will be emailed to parents at the end of the days listed below. We will send you your class list before the mass emails go out!
July 25 - Fourth and Fifth Grade
July 26 - Second and Third
July 27 - Kindergarten and First
Please don't set up a wish list on social media for supplies. I've heard that the State has allocated $1000 for each teacher and you'll be getting these funds earlier than you typically do. We will also collect "donation" money from parents during registration. If you need something for your classroom and you don't have money, please come talk to me and we'll figure out a way to help you.
I do encourage a "Wishlist Board" for Meet the Teacher and Chat Nights. Once again, this wouldn't be typical supplies, but instructional items. Many of our parents look for this at these events. Please let me know if you'd like to discuss further or if you'd like to seek special funding for a particular project.
I just loaded the schedules for Specials, PE and lunch into the Teacher Resources drive. You will see some changes that were made to help with a few concerns.
1. Everyone has Specials on Tuesday. Collaboration will be expected on Tuesdays. The First Tuesday of each month is for Curriculum and Instruction PD and the Second Tuesday of each month is designated for Student Services. PST will also be held on Tuesdays during PE and Specials.
2. For Specials, Grade levels are grouped together to help with instructional supplies (instruments and art materials) 5/4, 2/3 and K/1,
3. When looking at the Cahaba Calendar, you'll see designated Thursday, early dismissal, time for Team/Grade Level planning or PLCs.
July 27 - Beginning around 5:30, our back hall will be painted. It would be best if we didn't have extra people in the building that evening.
August 1 - FBC Work Day at Cahaba - The Senior Citizens from FBC will be pressure washing sidewalks and awnings and washing windows, inside and out.
August 2 - New Teacher Orientation at the BOE (Kiefer and Mosley)
August 3 - Institute AM - Lunch provided at Cahaba - 3-5 Math Teachers have SuccessMaker training at the BOE - PM
August 4 - K-2 Teachers have SuccessMaker training at the BOE - AM, 3-5 Reading Teachers have SuccessMaker training at the BOE - PM
August 7 and 8 will start in the library with a staff meeting, but you will have lunch and the afternoon to work in your rooms and plan with your team.
